The Tournament Times exists to help all hockey teams make well informed choices about where to spend their Tournament dollars, we offer a listing to every tournament operator that requests one.
Most Tournaments are run by Minor / Youth Hockey Associations as fundraisers to help finance their
club expenses, these "NON PROFIT" events are listed as One Line Notices at no cost in The Tournament Times, if
they wish to enhance their visibility we offer several options.
Commercial Tournament Operators "FOR PROFIT" are asked to pay a nominal charge for One Line Entries.
Our definitions of "NON PROFIT" and "FOR PROFIT" are as follows:
NON PROFIT
Tournaments operated by a recognized Minor Hockey Club and sanctioned by the local official Governing Body, surplus funds go towards the operating costs of that club and/or a Charity because a sanction is only granted on these terms.
FOR PROFIT
Tournaments operated by anyone else. Since no restrictions exist, any loss would be absorbed by an individual or company or any surplus funds would be theirs to dispose of as they wish, or simply put, a profit.
Yes, I know some Summer Hockey Clubs operate Tournaments as a self financing venture similar to the sanctioned Minor Hockey Clubs. The trick is to separate them from the "for profit" operations. I don't have the time or resources
to make that distinction so all non-sanctioned Tournaments will be considered to be in the "for profit" category.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with a "for profit" Tournament operation,
everyone knows what they are entering and they keep coming back. Our position
is simply this, if a Tournament operator expects to make a profit, we would
like a small fee for the publicity requested in The Tournament Times.
ONE LINE ENTRIES
are maintained on the site until the date of your event at
which time they are removed in order to keep the list current and easy to read, you must have an e-mail address
in order to accept replies.
Each entry is FREE to "not for profit" Hockey clubs or organizations.
"FOR PROFIT" operators are asked to pay $0.50 per One line entry for Minor /Youth events ie: If your event is
open to Midget through Minor Novice AAA, AA & A that is 30 One line entries at a cost of 30 x $0.50 = $15.00.
There is a minimum $10.00 fee for each event. ie: an event may accept applications only from
Bantam AAA, AA & A teams the listing fee would be $10.00, not 3 x $0.50.
"FOR PROFIT" operators are asked to pay $1.00 per One line entry for Adult events, there is a $5.00 minimum.
Because our Minor /Youth listings are arranged by Age group, Level of play, Date & Location, it is not possible to list
more than one of these components in a One line entry. Adult listings show Date, location & gender only.
